Fireworks Safety...American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) urges families Not to Buy Fireworks - Fireworks Safety 2009
Each year, about 10,000 people are treated in emergency departments for injuries from consumer fireworks. The AAP and the National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA), with the Alliance to Stop Consumer Fireworks, urge families not to buy fireworks for their own or their children’s use. Even “sparklers” can
become extremely hot and burn children. A series of video public service announcements is available through NFPA. The AAP also has “A Minute for Kids” radio
spot about the dangers of fireworks.
