Sandra L. Weidner, MD, FAAP    

     Dr. Weidner, who is board-certified in pediatrics, was born and raised in Reading, graduating from Reading High School in 1975. After graduating from Muhlenberg College, she moved on to graduate studies in microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania, including one year of cancer research at the Wistar Institute. She graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1985. Dr. Weidner served her pediatric residency at the Upstate Medical Center-SUNY in Syracuse, where, in her last year, she served as chief resident and received the resident teaching award. While in Syracuse, she worked as pediatrician to the Onondaga Indian Reservation.

     Dr. Weidner has practiced with The Children's Clinic since 1991. Her practice interests include ADHD, healthy lifestyles for kids and general pediatric care. In addition to her practice commitments, she serves on the boards of CONCERN and the Berks Visiting Nurse Association, as she has several committee responsibilities at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Weidner is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania and Berks County Medical Societies.

     In her free time, Dr. Weidner enjoys travel, reading, walking and spending time with her husband, Dick.

Rebecca R. Ezard, MD, FAAP

    

     Dr. Ezard, who is board-certified in pediatrics, is originally from Millville, PA and was the 1985 class valedictorian of Gettysburg College. In 1989, she graduated from Penn State University College of Medicine at Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Ezard completed her pediatric residency at Columbus Children's Hospital associated with Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. While there, she volunteered at a summer camp for diabetic children,. She also performed pediatric and neonatal intensive care transports. Dr. Ezard is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

     "Dr. Becky" moved back to Pennsylvania to practice pediatrics here in Reading in July, 1992. She has been involved in various hospital sub-committees. She is a member of La Leche League and the AAP Section on Breast Feeding. Outside the office, her interests include reading, gardening and crafts. She and her husband, Allen, enjoy music, theater, travel, and playing with their children.

Ruth M. Spillerman, MD, FAAP

 

 

     Dr. Spillerman, who is board-certified in pediatrics, was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil and moved to Boston, Massachusetts at the end of high school. She graduated cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. In 1994, she received her medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Spillerman completed her pediatric residence at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Spillerman is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

     She serves on the Continuing Medical Education Committee at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

     Dr. Spillerman enjoys spending time with her husband, David, and two children, Ari and Talia. She speaks French and Portuguese fluently.

Salvatore Anzalone, MD, FAAP

 

     Dr. Anzalone, who is board-certified in pediatrics, is a magna cum laude graduate of Carson-Newman College in Tennessee. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Florida in 1986. He received his pediatric training at TC Thompson's Children's Hospital at the University of Tennessee, where he served as chief resident in his last year. Dr. Anzalone previously worked at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he was involved in clinical aspects of pediatrics, as well as teaching.

     Dr. Anzalone's commitment to teaching has continued throughout his career. He has received numerous awards, both from Family Practice Residents at St. Joseph Medical Center and from The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. His special interests include asthma, ADHD and maintaining healthy lifestyles. Dr. Anzalone is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

     Dr. Anzalone and his wife, Judy, are raising three young boys, and appreciate the challenges in raising children in today's environment. He also speaks Spanish and Italian fluently, adding greater depth and comfort to his treatment of patients from bilingual families.

Robert J. Cordes, III, DO, FAAP

 

     Dr. Cordes, who is board-certified in pediatrics, was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. A 1988 graduate of Ursinus College, Dr. Cordes earned his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa in 1992. After a one-year internship in Erie, PA, Dr. Cordes completed his pediatric residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Following his residency, "Dr. Rob" worked in the Geisinger system in Wilkes-Barre for five years before joining Children's Clinic.

     Dr. Rob has special interests in childhood nutrition and safety, and he has led seminars on breast feeding and child safety. He is a member of the AAP Section on Breast Feeding and a NHTSA Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Dr. Cordes is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

     Outside the office, he enjoys minor league baseball with his wife, Deb, and their two young sons. He is also interested in Civil War history, ethnopediatrics, amateur astronomy, and dog obedience training.

Timothy L. Tam, MD, FAAP   

 

     Dr. Tam, who is board-certified in pediatrics, is a native of West Chester, PA and attended Haverford College, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in biology. Subsequently, he attended MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed a three-year residency in pediatrics at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Tam is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

     Dr. Tam returned to Pennsylvania with his wife, Shelby, and their sons to settle in the Reading area, where they are becoming involved members of the community. Some of Dr. Tam's interests, besides spending time with his family and practicing pediatrics, include golf, guitar, singing, and catching a Reading Phillies baseball game.
